Beah pants for men are a popular form of beachwear. They are specially designed so they can be easily rolled up and allow men to wade in the water, go rafting or just running around the beach. Usually made of hemp or cotton, beach pants are pleated and have pockets in the front and back. Unlike beachwear for women, pockets are important in beachwear for men. Pockets are large enough to accommodate loose change, keys, road maps and other stuff that the man may want to take to the beach.

Normal beach pants have broad, straight legs. However, a variety of styles is available. There are Hemp Bells, which are low-rise bell-shaped pants. Then, there are Linen Capri pants which are so elegant they are accepted as dinner wear in resort dining rooms. La Rok pants are made of cotton with drawstrings around the waist, a zipper and a hook.

Board shorts are another type of beachwear for men and have their counterpart in beachwear for women. A product coming from the surfing and wake boarding community, board shorts are made from quick-dry, sleek synthetic materials used for bathing suits like nylon, cotton, spandex and microfibre. They are designed for durability and protection against the wind. Neoprene fly is used instead of velcro and new designs do not have an inseam.

To add to their popularity as beachwear, board shorts come in different lengths, in all sorts of pattern and styles. This makes it possible to use them as a substitute for regular shorts. Designs can range from geometric patters to Hawaiian blooms. The current fashion, however, favors retro designs with loud neon, pink and green colors.

Waterproof pants are another type of men’s beachwear now in great demand. Aside from beachwear, waterproof pants are also used for hiking, mountaineering, trekking and rafting. High-performance synthetic fabrics like nylon or polyester with a urethane coating are used to make waterproof pants. While keeping the wearer dry on the inside, the waterproof pants also stay dry on the outside.

The most important item in men’s beachwear is the swimwear. For most men, the look and the functionality of the swimwear are of equal importance as is the case with beachwear for women. The feel of the swimwear on the body is another important characteristic. Materials like nylon, spandex or polyester are used because they absorb water well. Square leg swimming trunks, similar in style to cycling shorts, are very much in vogue these days.

Changes in styles of beachwear for men are not as radical as those in beachwear for women. Most of the time, fashion demands are satisfied by new colors and designs.
